FAQs – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A collection of frequently asked questions – FAQs. However, please feel free to get in touch to ask about any further queries you may have.
What is the Pre-Wedding Shoot?
The pre-wedding photo shoot usually takes place a couple of months before the wedding. It’s a very informal, fun shoot, which can be shot at a favourite location or at the wedding venue itself. It will help to get you relaxed in front of the camera, and for us to know how best to photograph you on your wedding day. It’s even more important for anyone who might feel a bit nervous about being photographed, as once you’re familiar with the routine, it will feel that much more natural to you on your wedding day.
How long do you stay on our wedding day?
This will depend on the wedding package booked. We usually start with the bridal preparations in the morning, and stay until just after the first dance. Times are flexible and there are no charges for extra hours on our full-day package.
How many photographs will you take?
This will vary from wedding to wedding, but we have no fixed number. The quantity taken is dependent upon factors, such as the number of locations throughout the day, and the amount of available time between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. For our full-day package, it would be typical to deliver around 400-500 images to you. I only provide you with the best photographs taken on the day.
Do you photograph formal family groups?
Yes we do, wedding group shots or family portraits are an important part of the wedding day. I try to complete the group photographs within 15-20 minutes max, using a pre-arranged list, and will ask your Ushers to help gather family and guests to organise everything as smoothly and quickly as possible.
How much digital manipulation goes into our pictures?
Every image is assessed for colour and tone and edited accordingly. Most images will have some adjustments made to them, with obvious distractions taken care of before they are presented to the client. If professional prints or albums are ordered, a little more editing may go into the selected images.
How many photographs make a great storybook album?
We normally choose between 80 and 100 pictures for the standard 30-page album. However, if you want more than 100 images, you have the option of increasing the number of album pages.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
What type of gear do you use?
I use Nikon professional camera bodies & lenses and Nikon Speedlight flash units.
Who owns the copyright to the images?
As the creator, Jeremy Wilson Photography owns the copyright to the images. However, our contract gives the client full usage rights, with permission to print, copy and share them with friends, as long as this is for personal, non-commercial use only.
How long will it take to get our images?
Your images will be ready to view within 3 weeks of your wedding (usually sooner). We will initially upload the images to your password protected web gallery for you to view, and share with friends and family.
How do we make a booking?
Please contact us directly to check our availability. We will then send you a PDF contract and quote. Once your booking fee is received your date is then confirmed. The balance will be due 30 days prior to the wedding date.
